Blasted nesting syndrom!

So I have done prject after project after project getting ready for Spring/ Baby/ Family coming this weekend for the shower. Gosh, I am so burned out! I only have 5 weeks to go and it sure is coming up fast. I did make the letters for the kids' room. It was fun! I just wish I could paint in there. We don't plan on staying in this house more than a few more years, and I don't want to paint it all cute just to have to re-paint. Too much work!

We have been replacing all of our interior doors because the old ones were scary... look at these pictures of the old and new:

We also got a new tree--Yay--and some bushes for the front of our house:

I pulled up about 60% of the weeds in our front yard so it would look nice when the family gets here... but I gave up after awhile. We have a gazillion goat heads! Todd is going to spray the rest, but we can't spray them until all the family is gone because two of them are bringing their dogs and we don't want the poison to get the dogs sick.... dang it. I can't wait to get those things gone before we get our grass greening up. I love the Spring!

I've also added handles to all of our kitchen cabinets, shampooed the carpets and deep cleaned every room in the house. The house looks great though! I'm just lucky I haven't put myself into labor with all of this! I finally am not able to fit into my wedding ring... it feels weird to not have it on. I'm just glad the end is nearing so quickly!

Ultrasound

We had another ultrasound yesterday. They are monitoring the size of this baby very closely since Evan was macrosomic (really big). This one is following right in his footsteps. I am 33 weeks, but her head is measuring at 37 weeks and her overall weight and growth at almost 36 weeks. At this point she should be just over 4 pounds, but she is already 5#10oz. Since babies gain at least 1/2 a pound a week for the last 8 weeks... well whe won't be any smaller than 8 pounds when they are able to induce me between 38 and 39 weeks. They'll do another ultrasound at that time to see how big she is. If she's over 9 1/2 pounds, I'll probably opt for a c-section. I pushed with Evan for 2.5 hours, he came out with a vacuum, his shoulders got stuck, and I tore three ways. The risk to the baby is just too high for me to deliver a bigger baby again, and I honestly don't know if a c-section would be worse to heal from than what I went through. I just pray she measures at 8 pounds at 38 weeks. At least she is healthy! It was so cool to see her sucking on her lips and to watch her heart beating away. The sonographer measured her head 3 times because she couldn't believe her head was that big. Todd and I just are good at making big babies I guess!

I'm still feeling pretty good. The contractions are annoying and my back hurts a lot, but I can handle the end after getting through the beginning. Todd and I already don't get much sleep with my tossing and turning and frequent trips to the bathroom (my favorite room in the house, ha!).
This is what Madilyn's side of the room looks like:

I had this blanket custom-made for her:

Valentine's Day

I guess we didn't have a very traditional Valetine's Day. Todd and I both had to work, but we made it nice anyway. Todd sent me beautiful flowers at work and got a lot of other husbands in trouble =P

I work with another nurse whose husband works with Todd. So after work, we two girls ordered food and ate dinner at our husband's work. It was nice to at least have had an hour with him on Valentine's Day. Otherwise I wouldn't have seen Todd until the next morning. It was different, but it was nice.

Evan--aka Harry Potter

He chose the straw wand today

It's hilarious to hear him try to say "expecto patronum!"

Hey, why can't I see Evan?

He thought it might be fun to try out the floor

32 weeks!

The end is so close, yet still so far away. Thank goodness things are still going well. I don't have gestational diabetes... so I just have to pray this kiddo isn't as big as her brother. I've been feeling good though, besides miserable back pain.

It seems like I clean and clean and clean and there is still always more to clean. The funny thing is that I keep whining about how small my house is. I can't imagine cleaning a bigger one. I guess the hard part is keeping the clutter down because we are busting at the seems right now with no storage space.

I've been deep cleaning everything in the house to get ready for all the family. This weekend we get to work on the outside of the house. I can't wait until all the freezing ends so we can have a green lawn again. It's been so nice. Evan and I are loving the warm weather. I can't hardly keep myself inside.
